LumpyTouch is a YouTuber and Twitch streamer known for his pixel art and horror-inspired Creepy Garfield animation series Gorefield, along with his Super Mario Bros animations. Aside from his pixel animations, LumpyTouch is also a game developer and music composer from itch.io[11] that makes 8-bit pixel art games similar to those found on the classic Nintendo Gameboy.

Online History

On March 26th, 2013, LumpyTouch started his YouTube[1] channel and Twitter[2] account. His channel has over 384,000 subscribers and 63 million total views, and on Twitter, his account has over 47,000 followers. On April 29th, 2013, LumpyTouch created the page for his Facebook[3] account, receiving roughly 1,300 likes and followers.

The LumpyTouch subreddit, /r/lumpytouch,[4] was created on July 23rd, 2016, and has over 1,900 members. The subreddit consists of posts from fans sharing his work as well as LumpyTouch posting art himself (shown below). LumpyTouch also launched an account on Instagram[5] in October 2018 where he shares his creations, with over 63,000 followers. On Twitch,[6] LumpyTouch streams himself playing various games, as well as working on game development. His channel has over 35,000 followers.

On July 7th, 2019, Urban Dictionary[7] user Pancake Satan added the term "Lumpified" to the site, which describes the act of LumpyTouch reanimating different franchises and series into his creepy, pixel-art aesthetic (seen below).

On May 23rd, 2019, USGamer[12] published an article on LumpyTouch and his Garfield Gameboy recreation, titled "The Nightmare Is Far From Over:' How the Artist Behind Garfield Gameboy'd Dreamed up His Four-Color Horror Show."

Gorefield Origins

LumpyTouch submitted his first short Garfield horror animated video, based on a viral illustration by William Burke, to his YouTube[8] channel on October 29th, 2018, titled "Garfield Gameboy'd Part 1/5," depicting a Creepy Garfield survival horror game on the Nintendo Gameboy with a music soundtrack from Clock Tower. This short animated video (seen below, left) received over 1.4 million views. On November 26th, 2018, the fifth and final part of the series based on Burke's illustrations was released on YouTube[9] (seen below, right), receiving over 1 million views.



On December 28th, 2018, LumpyTouch submitted his original Garfield horror series, titled "Gorefield," to his YouTube[10] channel (shown below), receiving over 1.3 million views, 47,000 likes and 4,500 comments.
