Justin Gaethje is an American professional mixed martial artist in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) competition. He is a former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion and is known online for his fights and performances on the championship.

Career

Justin Gaethje^[1] began his amateur mixed martial artist (MMA) career while in college around 2011, joining the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) in 2013, where he became Lightweight Champion. He joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on May 4th, 2017 and his debut in the competition occurred on July 7th, 2017, against the veteran Michael Johnson. Gaethje won the fight via technical knockout (TKO) in the second round. The athlete's post-fight interview was uploaded on the UFC official YouTube^[2] (shown below), garnering over 314,000 views and 3,600 likes in six years.

Online Presence

Online, clips of Justin's UFC fights received millions of views over the years. For instance, a clip from Justin Gaethje vs Tony Ferguson's fight (shown below, left) garnered over 15 million views and 111,000 likes since it was uploaded on January 8th, 2021 by user @SuperSlowMotions^[3]. A Khabib vs Justin Gaethje clip posted by @MMAClipmaster^[4] on February 22nd, 2022, garnered roughly 12 million views and 562,000 likes in a year.

On November 3rd, 2021, an edited version of the I'm Literally the Guy in the Pic meme using Gaethje's picture went viral on the platform. The post (shown below) garnered over 5,200 likes and 610 retweets in two years.
