Jack Black Bowsette refers to a series of fan drawings depicting actor Jack Black as Bowsette made in response to Jack Black being announced as the voice actor for Bowser in the Untitled Super Mario Bros. Film.

Origin

On September 23rd, 2021, the Untitled Super Mario Bros. Film, along with its voice acting cast, was announced on that day's Nintendo Direct on YouTube.^[1]

Shortly afterwards, Ross O'Donovan (RubberNinja) on Twitter responded to the announcement with a tweet reading "Jack Black Bowsette" (shown below).^[2]

Minutes after Ross O'Donovan's post, Twitter user @Claus_UK^[3] was made about Jack Black Bowsette using the Are You Going to Sleep? meme.

Artists on Twitter soon responded to the tweet with photoshops and art of Jack Black dressed as Bowsette. For example, user @starteas^[4] posted an example that gained over 430 retweets and 1,400 likes (shown below, left). User @tectiger_VH^[5] posted an example that gained over 980 retweets and 3,200 likes (shown below, right).
