👉😎👉 Zoop! is an onomatopoeic expression often typed in Reddit comment threads in reference to an /r/AskReddit post describing pointing finger guns while saying "Zoop" to her boss at work. The word "zoop" is often accompanied by finger gun emojis and a sunglass smile emoji.

Origin

On November 16th, 2017, Redditor maelstrommartin submitted a post titled "What's the weirdest thing you've done as a result of social anxiety?" to /r/AskReddit, where it received more than 34,400 points (87% upvoted) and 16,900 comments within 24 hours. In the comments section, Redditor actuallylavagirl described leaving the office and pointing finger guns at her boss while saying "zoop" (shown below). Over the next 20 hours, the comment gathered upwards of 36,000 points and received 7 gilded Reddit golds.^[1] In response, many Redditors began replying with "zoop!" along with various finger gun and smiley face emoji combinations.

"Talking to my boss after a long day of exams and assignments. I go to leave and she catches the door before I can leave to say goodbye. For some reason my wired brain made me give her fingerguns and say "zoop" as I walked away. Thought about it the whole way home."

That day, Redditor^[9] DoofusYoofus commented, "👉😎👉 Zoop." The post received more than 19,000 points (shown below).

The following day, Redditor SCOOTtheSQUEAKER posted the "👉😎👉 Zoop!" to the /r/copypasta subreddit.^[2] Meanwhile, Redditor doughcastle01 submitted a post asking "What is zoop?" to /r/OutOfTheLoop.^[3] That same day, Redditor moneypennycashdollar submitted a post repeated the emojis to /r/emojipasta^[8] (shown below).

Also on November 17th, FunnyJunk^[6] user joshlol uploaded a screenshot of the original Reddit post. In the coming days, the emoji sequence was posted across various subreddits on the social news site, including /r/DoTA2,^[4] /r/me_irl^[5] and /r/teenagers.^[7]
